1/07/08- As I was driving home from work this evening, I was listening to my local TV station talk about an article posted from a press release today concerning how the government is moving in the direction of allowing reimbursement for home sleep testing. How timely I thought considering that I just launched a company called Home Sleep Solution,Inc. The article goes on to mention that people are more willing to get tested for OSA if their insurance would reimburse for the study. Also, the article references a Canadian study published last year that randomly assigned suspected OSA sufferers to either a sleep lab or home testing , and found they worked equally well. What could be better then getting accurate testing in the comfort of your home and then getting the study interpreted by a Board Sleep Physician within 24hrs. and starting treatment so you can improve the quality and safety of your life. Once medicare approves home sleep testing for reimbursement then other insurances with follow suite.
